It's Time for Your Check-Up
It's a new quarter and it's time to measure up how you did in quarter 1 of 2015. After all, setting a goal is a great place to start, but the follow-through is where the transformation is made. We suggest that at the very least you should track your progress monthly (like a monthly statement) However, weekly is the best route to take until you've really settled into a good system and have created a healthy habit. At the start of every quarter you can look back over the past 3 months and really chart your progress and celebrate your results.

Tips for success
.
Place your goals in a place where you see them every day. (I.e. post them on your bathroom mirror, hang them on your closet door, make them your wallpaper on your cell phone, etc.) The truth of the matter is; the more focus and attention you give to something, the higher your chances are of doing it. Once a goal is completed, cross it off of your list and you’ll feel a joy that is indescribable.

Physically write out your goals, (color code them, draw images, make them interesting to look at), at the bare minimum every quarter when you do your check-ups. We evaluate and rewrite our goals monthly because it helps us to keep them fresh in our minds, and set the pace for the month ahead while celebrating the month that just passed
Block out time to work on your goal. Unplug from the busy world of media, TV, etc., and focus on whatever you need to finish your goal. Use this time to concentrate with your head down into your work, cell on mute (not vibrate) off in another room, and focused on the task at hand.

Ask for help. Identify an accountability partner to help you stay on track and challenge you. A little persistent nudging works wonders; it serves as another reminder.
Never Give Up! Keep going, even when you don’t feel like it and it seems hard. Perseverance is what success is made of.

1. Write out what you have done towards achieving your goal so far (Be specific here.)

2. What steps can you take to improve your progress for the next quarter (Write out the steps.)

3.Take a serious and hard look at where you are, and ask yourself what are you committed to doing to move forward with achieving your goals -- the answer to this question may lead you to rethink your goals. Be realistic about them and alter them towards the direction that you see yourself moving in. Know that altering your goals to get you to a new, more focused destination is okay. Change can be good, but staying stagnant and not changing (in the direction of achieving your goal, or in the direction of crafting a better goal) is unhealthy.

In summary, you should always create a tracking system for any goal that you set so that you can measure your progress. Charting your progress will allow you to ask yourself a few things: 1. Are you really making progress at all? 2. Are you truly heading in the direction that you want to go, or are you merely achieving a goal for the sake of saying you did something? 3. Is what you’re doing working? If so, how can you improve the plan? If not, what can you try to get the results that you want? The answers to these questions will help you put everything into perspective.

Don’t allow yourself to get overwhelmed with this process, take baby steps. Just be sure to review your goals in regular intervals, create manageable measurable steps to achieve them, and track your progress. Once you create a system that works for you, you’ll be unstoppable.
