Dear praying friends,
A great need remains for translating the Bible into numerous languages around the world. Yet it is also encouraging that the number of “Bible-less” people is decreasing. Not long ago, a goal was set that by the year 2025, a Bible translation for every remaining language in the world which needs it, would have begun. That deadline is rapidly approaching—just 10 years away. We believe this is a very admirable goal and are working hard to do our part to fulfill this vision for the Roma (Gypsy) languages in Europe and western Eurasia. To that end, we have formed the Roma Bible Society (www.romabiblesociety.org) and have launched the Decade of Roma Bible translation, 2015-2025.

We are so thrilled and proud of one of our Hungarian partners who has completed a booklet with five passages from the Gospel of Luke in the Hungarian Munteon Bayash dialect, which is not only the first Scripture ever in this language, but the first booklet ever printed in this language. This is a huge answer to prayer and the culmination of years of hard work on the part of many people. Please pray: 1) that we can get the booklet with pictures laid out and ready for print, with Hungarian on one side and Hungarian Munteon Bayash on the other; 2) for the needed funding to print these booklets which are about 30 pages each (we hope to print 300-400 copies); 3) that they will be distributed eagerly in southern Hungary and that God would use them to bring many Bayash to Himself and to strengthen the believers.
Over Christmas we enjoyed a break from the routine as well as hosting our new friend, Victor, a Brazilian studying at Word of Life Bible Institute here in Hungary. He needed a place to stay for a few days between semesters and we really enjoyed getting to know him and he hit it off with the kids, playing games over Christmas break.
