Share the Gospel with this tool:
Have you ever wanted to share with someone the story of the
Bible but haven’t been sure where to start? The Bible is a big book, many
people are unfamiliar with it, and it is sometimes hard to know how to share
the main points without getting bogged down.
I wanted to let you know of a new resource you can use for
sharing the Gospel and teaching believers, called Open Bible Stories.
These are 50 stories, retold from the Bible in order to give an overview from
creation to the return of Christ (often called the chronological Bible teaching
approach). The purpose is to give the “big picture” of the Bible’s story of
salvation. It consists of a series of pictures and simple text. It is available in English online to read, as well as audio and video here.
It is suitable to use with anyone, but you may find it
especially helpful for children, as well as for adults who are not accustomed
to reading or with whom you might need to communicate in their second language
(such as immigrants, or Roma with whom we plan to use it). The Bible stories
have been simplified for those who are not familiar with the flow of Bible
history nor used to reading the more complicated language in the Bible itself.
“Open” in the title reflects that they are openly licensed
(CC BY-SA) so that they can be shared freely, adapted as you see fit, and
translated into any language in the world.
These stories are available in English and 23 other
languages on the web and in apps for Mac, Windows, Android, iOS and in PDF
(with 270 more languages in progress) at https://unfoldingword.org/stories/
and https://unfoldingword.org/app/.
(We are in the process of translating
them into Hungarian, Croatian and South Slavic Ardelean Bayash).
We look forward
to hearing how the Lord will use this for his honor and glory!
