A Joy-filled July
As we move into July and take a look around us, it’s such a blessing to witness the stirrings of summer—buzzing beaches here in Southern California, gorgeous vacation photos all over social media, friends and families reconnecting at various summer celebrations. The joy is truly palpable and it makes my heart so deeply happy!
Last month we set summer intentions, making sure we stay focused while also enjoying the gifts of this new season. Now this month, I want to focus primarily on JOY! While I am a firm believer in always striving to be better versions of ourselves, setting clear intentions and goals, and working hard to achieve our dreams, it is equally important to make sure that we are finding joy in the process. Happiness is a choice, so let’s not forget to choose it!
What are you doing in your life right now that isn’t bringing you joy? What is weighing you down? How can you change it or tweak it to make it more enjoyable? Sometimes we get in the habit of doing things a certain way and forget that we have a choice in what we do and how we do it. If it’s not making you happy, it’s time to get creative!
Is your meditation feeling stale? Take it outside! Are you losing motivation in the gym? Find a fun, new sport! Do you dread that tedious task at work? Delegate it! Is your heart telling you that you’re in the wrong job altogether? Start looking for a new one and believe that your dream job is out there. Whatever it is, it’s always a choice, even if it’s just a change in mindset.
So this month, I encourage you to CHOOSE JOY. Choose a life that makes you happy and be grateful for it.
