Please join me for my course in Ayurvedic Cooking at
 Santa Rosa Junior College. 
This six-week class is from 6:30 to 8:30
beginning October 28 and ending December 9. (We skip November 11).

Due to the pandemic, this class will be taught remotely through Zoom. You do not need to do anything special. Simply sign up for the class and a Zoom invitation will be emailed to you several days before the first class.

Learn to cook the Ayurvedic way.  You will learn how to prepare specific traditional Ayurvedic dishes. Even though its a Zoom class, be prepared to get your hands "dirty."

Ayurveda is India’s 5,000 year old health care system. According to Ayurveda, every aspect of life contributes to overall health, especially diet. Come learn to cook the Ayurvedic way with Dr. Helen Thomas, noted Ayurvedic doctor and Chiropractor.

In this class, you will learn:

  • The ten principles of a healthy diet according to Ayurveda.
  • How to eat according the season and your unique body type.
  • How to set up an Ayurvedic kitchen and pantry, including selection of utensils.
  • How to plan and cook nutritious Aryuvedic meals for the whole family or household taking into account different body types (Doshas).
  • How to cook specific Ayurvedic dishes for several seasons.
  • How to cook specific Ayurvedic dishes, including soup, vegetables dishes, curries and kicharees.
