Dear Friend,
Do you ever feel like, in order to escape that gnawing sense of emptiness inside you, you turn to the outside?
I’m talking about diving deep into hobbies like exercise, Netflix bingeing, or even relationships and work.
In our search for comfort or answers, we build up layers of “identity”, and bury who we are under these façades.
I do it, too.
I find myself defining myself by the things I do, the foods I eat, the people I spend my time with…
...I forget that my true self doesn’t have anything to do with what I do.
Filling that gaping void we sometimes feel in our hearts requires us to stop running, turn inward, and embrace the wholeness that already exists within us.
We’re conditioned to believe that who we are depends on our parents, teachers, society, religion, spiritual practice, occupation...etc.
Rather than looking within, we’re continually trying to fit in and find our peace in the external environment…
But there is no true validation to be had that comes from “out there”. The very fact that we are breathing is our validation!
That’s why I’ve already pre-ordered my copy of my friend, Panache Desai’s new book: You Are Enough.
As soon as I saw those words on the cover, I knew this was just the book I needed.
The thing is, I believe it to be true…
...but I’m certainly not embodying it in my everyday life.
I use it as a mantra for myself, when I’m feeling especially low and unworthy. But, I can’t say that it’s a truth I carry with me as I walk through life, head held high.
I think that’s why I felt something deep within me stir when I saw the title of Panache’s book. I knew that this book would help me not only believe it to be true, but to take that belief to the next level and actually step into my most true and authentic power.
Are you ready to do it with me?
