Hello, Writers!
We took a road trip this past week that included a few days in Atlanta. We visited the Van Gogh Experience (If you have the opportunity, attend this sell-out experience and be sure to include the Virtual Reality portion which was rather amazing.) We also attended the opening day of a Calder-Picasso exhibition at the High Museum (a brilliant interpretation that brings these two prolific artists together in a very thoughtful curation). And, we also took in the new movie Truman and Tennessee, about the relationship and journeys of Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams. It was a busy few days filled with all sorts of artistic stimulation.
My reading this week included finishing the Pulitzer Prize winning novel Less by Greer. The writing is witty and interesting, although I wasn't a fan of the final few pages. Still, even with a wonky end, I highly recommend this novel. So often you read an "award winning" book and wonder what the award committee was thinking. With Less, it's worthy of the awards and accolades.
I'm so pleased to have been invited to return and present an extended series of Fiction through Prompts workshops for the Henderson Libraries. Watch for those details on this popular series returning in the fall.
