Hello, Writers!
What are you reading? I'm teaching a contemporary fiction class this term and so I've been reading lots of the genre lately. I just finished The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Jenkins Reid. The structure of the novel takes advantage of news pieces, letters, first person, and third person. While I do think the novel has some development issues, I enjoyed the journey.
The Writer Workshop has two online events scheduled this week:
Monday, June 21, at 7 pm Eastern: Feedback and Critique. Read a bit of your work and receive feedback from the group. $5. Register today.
Tuesday, June 22, at 1 pm Eastern (10 am Pacific): Fiction through Prompts for the Henderson Libraries. Free, but you have to register in advance. Click to register. (This is the last even in this series.)
The Elements of Fiction webinars (Character, World Building, Plot, Pacing, and more) are available for on-demand viewing. Click to learn more....
For the online events, you don't need any special software. Just register and then click the link at the meeting time to join us.
