Hello, Writers!
This week, I've been listening to Octavia Butler's Patternmaster and Mind of My Own. Next up is her novel Wild Seed. What's interesting about these novels (there are two others in the series) is that they're a series, but were written out of order. That means Butler revisited the characters, world, and concepts of these sci-fi novels. She actually, eventually rejected novel five in the series, Survivor. It's out of print now, but I found a copy, so that's on my list, too.
It's interesting to me, the idea of writing a series out of order, with other novels in between. Writers really can take the journey that want to take and tell the stories they want to tell.
