Hello, Writers!
My reading this week included On Beauty by Zadie Smith. I like Smith's writing and style, but it bothered me that she wrote a story set in America with Americans, but her language was decidedly British. She used word choices, mostly for small things, that are British in nature and not American. It got me to thinking about how we research, not only about cities and places, but also about appropriate words. Something to think about.
I've got some travel planned throughout February, so we'll be skipping a few of our regularly scheduled events throughout the month. Check the newsletter for the upcoming weekly events.
