A recent Yahoo Health article is celebrating a 5'8" woman who currently
weighs 165 pounds, from 345lbs a few years ago.

I saw her before and after pics and thought, "She lost weight? Where?"

Being overweight comes with serious health complications. And lying
about what it is and what it isn't isn't helping anyone.

Lugging around 165 lbs at 40% body fat isn't and "after" photo. It's an in
progress photo. There's still a lot more work that needs to be done, namely,
getting her hormones in check.

...Now let me be very clear. I'm not fat shaming anyone!

I'm shaming the people who are trying to redefine the parameters of health.

Some people don't care about being overweight. And I completely
respect that.

Some of my closest friends are in this boat. It's not a priority in their life.
And I don't give a shit either way. I'm not a religious nut selling "beliefs"
or brimstone and fire. I'm just the messenger. And if they ever come to

to 40% fat isn't gonna help you.

The Yahoo article continues to glorify the so-called weight loss by
insisting that "she's doing great cause she's not eating gluten and dairy!"

Get real...This is a thinly disguised marketing ploy for gluten-free and

The article may as well be called, "Americans are so fat that even
after "a diet," they're still fat."

When it comes to weight loss, step 1 is to aim for fat loss.

Weight loss can come from anywhere. It can come from water, glycogen,
