The New York Attorney General conducted an investigation on supplements sold at 4 national retailers — GNC, Target, Walgreens and Wal-Mart.
What they found is more shocking than the latest Kim Kardashian scandal:
Many herbal supplements not only contain ZERO herbs — they also flat out don't contain the main ingredient/herb advertised on the f@#$ing label!
So basically, consumers have been buying dummy pills this whole time.

I make sure my lab runs every batch of TPC products for heavy metals, contaminants, as well as viral and bacterial infection. (Yes, supplements can contain viral and bacterial infections! Yummy!)
Additionally, I use use lab instruments like HPLC and NMR to characterize the ACTIVE ingredients we're aiming for from a given natural product. Consider Cinnergy or any cinnamon product. To be effective, it must have cinnamaldehyde. When I tested store bought brands for my book, they had none! They had processed the active ingredients right out of the pill!
