Subject: Stupid President?

Recently, President Obama announced steps his administration would take to
combat heroin and prescription drug abuse.

It's brilliant....not.

He cited "shocking numbers" around drug abuse in the United States,
citing that overdoses now kill more people than car accidents each
year.

His plan to combat the atrocity?

Just swap out the drugs for different drugs!

"Faced with a nationwide epidemic of heroin and prescription drug abuse,
the Obama administration announced Wednesday that it will take steps to
increase access to drug treatment and expand the training of doctors who
prescribe opiate painkillers."

"The Obama administration this year proposed $133 million in new spending
to curb overprescribing, increase the amount of overdose data collected and
expand access to Naloxone, a drug that can reverse the effects of an opiate
overdose."

I can't make this up.

It gets worse…

The Obama administration "hopes to double the number of doctors who can
prescribe buprenorphine, a drug used to treat opiate addiction, to 60,000
from 30,000 over the next three years. More than 40 medical provider groups
have committed to training more than half a million doctors, dentists and
others on the safe prescription of opiate medications."

Solution is to give MORE doctors MORE power to prescribe MORE drugs?

How exactly will this solve the problem of prescription drug abuse?

It won't.

All this does is give Big Pharma an even bigger green light…and a bigger
hard-on…to get MORE people hooked on these dangerous drugs.

They make money when you get hooked and they make money on the
"swap."

"The plan announced Wednesday also doubles the number of providers that can
prescribe Naloxone. Additionally, CVS plans to expand the number of states
where its pharmacies will dispense Naloxone without a prescription, and
Rite Aid will train 6,000 pharmacists on Naloxone use over the next year."

This doesn't make any…f#cking…sense.

Hell, why not require all citizens' homes to have a built-in drug
dispensary in the kitchen?

This is what's known as a "problem disguised as a solution." Even my
10-year-old son knows the real solution is easy: simply stop prescribing
drugs that lead to overdose and addiction.

Drugs are never the solution to the problems that drugs create.

Here's a thought…let's fight drug addiction by NOT USING
UNNECESSARY DRUGS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

It's not rocket science.
