Subject: ~Skyler's First Flight (Short Vid)
My 3 year old son, Skyler, spots every airplane in the sky.
For the last few weeks, he's been asking me, "When do I get to go
flying with you and Blair dad?"
Last week he got his wish. Now that the headset fits and he understands
the rules - don't talk to dad while he's flying - he jumped in the back
seat with his older, more experienced, brother.
Blair started flying with me when he was 4. We scooted around the sky in
a Cessna 172. Soon we moved into a Cessna 182, and eventually "the
Mooney."
I made a short video of the highlights. You can see big brother teaching him
some basics of the pre-flight. This was pretty nostalgic for me as it marked
a new era for our family.
We've flown the mountains of Colorado, soared over the Mississippi
river, crossed the Sea of Cortez and darted traffic in the busy airspace
of Los Angeles. Now, Skyler will be riding along on our new adventures.
No matter what, I've always taught Blair some basic rules to follow before
getting in:
1. Check for full fuel
2. Check weather
3. Check for water in the gas
4. Check the oil
Over the last 5 years, he has dutifully adhered to all of them. Now Skyler
gets to follow his lead.

P.S. A mistake in flying comes with severe consequences. The same
can be said for swallowing pills. And just like there are rules for getting
in a plane, you must follow rules before swallowing a multi-vitamin. Learn
