Density Altitude.
As heat rises, oxygen dissipates. This causes thinner air and decreases the performance of our plane. It's especially important on takeoff and landing.
When you're slow and low, you don't want to risk making a sharp turn to final approach. As you turn, centrifugal force adds weight. If you don't compensate with thrust in high density altitude, you approach your stall speed sooner than usual.
