Subject: ~My 15 yo Daughter Qualifying for Nationals? (PIC)

Pushing Past Failure
“He is superior to his fate. He is stronger than his rock.”
— Albert Camus, The Myth of Sisyphus

Above is a video of my oldest daughter, Lily, training for her upcoming Olympic Lifting qualifying tournament.
Last year she placed 15th in the USA.  She's aiming for top 5 this year, but only after she wins her regional meet on Saturday.

Her whole being was focused on the Herculean effort of lifting, then dropping underneath way-too-much-but-somehow-not weight.

She's performing a squat clean.

She weighs 119 lbs and is lifting 135 lbs here.

But it’s not about lifting. It’s about giving an effort and learning to be stronger than the sum of your muscles.  That means optimizing your lean body mass.  To be top 5 in the nation, Lily needs to be even more lean than she already is and stronger...so I had to give her the "hormone talk."

For weigh ins on Saturday, she's abstaining from bread, fruit, juice and and anything that doesn't provide nutrients.

She's following the same eating habits as a Type II diabetic would as well as my son who always weighs in lean and strong for wrestling.  There's no room for anything excess.

Her first approach to make weight was done in typical fashion - skip breakfast.  She gained weight.  That's due to the "Dawn Effect."  When you skip breakfast, you send a message to the body that there's no food.  The body responds by STORING
fat.

Not cool for a nationally ranked athlete.

Today she started with 2 eggs, tablespoon of coconut oil and blueberries.  This is limiting but not starving.  Lunch will be a chicken salad, Whey Advanced (www.getwheyadvanced.com) and cod liver oil.  Dinner will be the similar.  That should put her on weight for Saturday morning.  Then she'll have a couple hours to replenish and compete for a spot at Nationals.

Will she qualify?

I hope so.  But that's not important.  What's important is that she tries.

Prior to this successful lift pictured above, she failed 3 times. The weight didn't make it past her waist.

The majority of people fear outcomes and therefore never try. Shift perspective to give a Herculean effort, like Lily, and the outcome is irrelevant.

...You have to keep trying!  My oldest kids are always pushed to the limits....to keep trying.  Blair only won two wrestling matches last year.  This year he's only lost 2 and even won nationals.

In failure is winning.  Just keep trying.

It’s the same with being healthy, or living young. You have to give an effort!  Most people are so week they can't even begin because they are afraid to fail.

Living young is the prize for Herculean efforts among people who aren't afraid to try and fail!

Taking your meds is not an effort. That’s a cop out.  Meds are for sick people, not the healthy.

Lily's diet is made for strength, focus and health.  She doesn't eat anything served out of a package or window and if it taste's sweet, she doesn't go near it.  The backbone of every meal is red meat, eggs, chicken and butter.  And every breakfast or lunch is supplemented with www.getwheyadvanced.com.

On lifting days, she spikes her performance and strength with www.getthermofx.com.  This boosts strength in about 30 minutes!  It's also the most potent, yerba mate fat burner on the market!  Get it at www.getthermofx.com

Dare to live strong!
