Rhodiola increases physical activity, focus and elevates mood. Studies suggest that it works by increasing oxygen uptake and distribution while increasing the production of feel good compounds in the brain known as neurotransmitters. Curcumin is a spice I wrote about in Over-The-Counter Natural Cures. It contains a family of medicinal compounds known as curcuminoids. Together, they ignite “cell suicide” among cancer cells, while leaving healthy ones unscathed. The drug industry has been chasing this Holy Grail of “selective cytotoxicity” for decades but have failed to make anything close to curcumin.
