Hi everyone and
thanks for the opportunity to chat and share about what's near and dear to
our hearts--food and health!
You gave me a lot to
think about, especially Kristy's comments about her planning challenges, given
her trip to Utah the very next day. It
gave me a revelation: I always talk about
the "think-ahead-and-plan habit" rather than simply "meal
planning." I now realize why: Because there are
two parts, the planning part but also the thinking ahead part.
Kristy accomplished
the planning part perfectly well. But
she didn't have quite enough "thinking ahead time" to execute the
plan on Sunday night without undue stress and hassle (which is the point of this undertaking.) I was so glad to have gotten this realization that I made it the subject of this
month's newsletter, which you'll get right after this one.
Of course we don't
always have the ideal "think-ahead" time--which was the case for Kristy--so my next newsletter will
talk about one fallback solution: Be
Your Own Fast Food Restaurant! Look
for that in a couple weeks.
In the meantime, as
a new reader you'll soon get a series of welcome emails about Meal Making
Transformation, which is what we're all about. You'll also be getting these three gifts:
The recipe card, "5 Ways to Take the Boring Out of Broccoli,"
an eBook guide to setting good, achievable resolutions, and a follow along
cooking class video on how to sauté moist and tender chicken breasts and make a simple sauce.
From our
conversation, I can tell you are all very skilled in the kitchen and are doing
a great job transitioning to the eating approach Kristy is sharing with
you. So can I say congrats! I hope we can continue to support and
encourage each other to continue on this path, knowing it is absolutely the way
we should be going--despite the barrage of marketing nonsense we are subjected
to all the time.
If you'd like to
read more about The New Kitchen Culture that I advocate, here is the link. And if I forgot to answer any questions--or
if you have any additional questions or comments--please feel free to email.
Best wishes for many
happy and healthful meals,
Mary Collette Rogers Healthy Kitchen Companion
P.S. Speaking of
marketing, I just read about the snack industry's plans to launch a new
marketing assault on us. Snack sales are
down so manufacturers are convinced we need to be "re-educated" on
the many benefits of eating highly processed non-foods that destroy our
health. I'll report more in the next
newsletter.
