As you already know,
The Happy Music Festival 2021 is already opened for registration, and feedback from parents, teachers and students have been amazing!
We have also received many questions regarding the festival. Let me address some of them here for you.
1. Do I need to submit the video recording when I register for the festival?
Nope. You don't need to record or submit any video recording now. You only need to register for the correct category. That's all.
2. What are the guidelines for video recording?
The guidelines for video recording and submission will be sent to all participants once early bird registration is closed.
Participants have to record based on the festival guidelines. Hence, you don't have to record anything now. But you can start practicing.
3. When do I need to submit the video recording?
The deadline for first round of submission is on 15th October 2021. That is about 2 months away. So you have enough time to record and submit your performance.
4. Who are the composers of the 4 music periods?
We have compiled a list of composers from the 4 music periods for participants joining the Classical categories. Check out this post on
The Happy Pianist Instagram page.
This list is not exhaustive. You can still play a piece from a composer not listed there. If you're unsure, you can contact us.
5. Can I perform my ABRSM exam piece? Since I'm already preparing for my exams this year.
Yes, you can perform any piece from any exam grade or any syllabus, as long as it fits the repertoire guideline of the category.
6. I'm not learning with a teacher now. Can I still participate?
Of course you can! This festival is open to anyone, regardless if you're learning from a private piano teacher, from a school teacher, or simply self-learning.
