Welcoming 2020 from the CHLQ Board
"Dear Sisters and Brothers,
CHLQ has now entered its 27th year of continuous operation. We give our infinite gratitude to Mestre Irineu for opening the path, to Padrinho Sebastiao for the gift of our lineage, and we honor the presence of our Patrons: Dr. Jose Rosa and our Mother Baixinha who watch over us, and guide us always. We extend our gratitude to Padrinho Jonathan Goldman and Madrinha Jane Seligson for their courage and dedication in founding and nurturing this sacred Church. Last, but not least, we acknowledge the generosity and integrity of our Irmandade, and we celebrate the presence of each and every one of our community members who brings their heart and wisdom to generate the precious healing current that we manifest together.
Our Church can also celebrate what we have accomplished outside of our Salao. We continue to support the expansion of the legalization of the Daime throughout the United States and the World. Our efforts with the Regional Council, continued cooperation with our governmental agencies, and our work with various points throughout the country continues to help to free the Santo Daime. Jonathan’s exploration and relations with churches and throughout Brazil secures and introduces the incredible Daime that we are able to experience. We continue to support Padrinho Alfredo in Ceu do Mapia, the community of Ceu da Montanha in Maua, and Estrela Brilhante in Maranhao, as well as continuing our close relationship to Flor da Montanha in Lumiar. We have been able we have been able to provide support both spiritually and physically to brothers and sisters in need.
Here in 2020, we are in a potent moment of transformation and rebirth as a Church. It feels we have solidified a new start and a strong sense of unity as a small but mighty group of Daimistas! We are determined to continue the holy mission of CHLQ - for our local community, for our visitors, and for all those we touch around the world through our outreach and support. We are firming our commitment and our intentions on all levels: spiritual, in the circle of our community, and grounded on Earth. And so at this moment of renewal and opportunity in our Church, we welcome your heart, your positive will, your faith, and your tithing support!
The consistent flow of our monthly tithes both affirms our heartfelt gratitude to the service of our Church, as well as literally provides the means for CHLQ to cover our most basic operating costs. Indeed, our tithe is material, but it is also a spiritual commitment, to assist in bringing Light to Earth. The energy each of us expends to raise our tithe money flows directly into the work that we are able to do as a Church!
To continue our sacred journey together, we need all of our members at the oars of our little boat. This means that all of us must commit to our tithes for the year, and be sure that they are paid when due. With this letter, we ask that you bring your tithing up to date, or make arrangements with our Board or our Church Administrator to catch up as best you can. We also ask that you fill out and return the attached tithing commitment form for 2020. Please recognize that every extra dollar you contribute speeds and strengthens our ability to bring the light of the Daime to all who need and seek it.

| | | Padrinho Sebastião Centennial 2020 |
| | In 2020, the year of Padrinho Sebastião's Centenary, Vila Céu do Mapiá will host a series of commemorative events and the inauguration of the new Church.
On January 7th, we celebrate the 70th birthday of Padrinho Alfredo. In June Festival, Madrinha Rita’s 95th birthday. On October 7th, there is a big celebration: Padrinho Sebastião Centennial! And in the end of year, during the festival, we commemorate Padrinho Valdete, Madrinhas Dodô and Julia’s birthdays. Besides many spiritual works and events through out the year.
Those who plan to attend any of the commemorative events, we ask to fill in the Registration Form. A large number of visitors are expected, so the information in this form is crucial for us to register the number of people who will come to Céu do Mapiá, their needs and possibilities, and to organize ourselves so that everyone will be well host at Padrinho Sebastião's house.
If you are interested in collaborating with the activities or cultural performings at Vila Céu do Mapiá during 2020, please fill in the Event Proposal Form available at the folowing link, so that we can arrange your activity into our calendar.
Thank you for your cooperation in completing the form. And remember when you get to Céu do Mapiá community, you need to go to Residents’ Association - AMVCM, in the center of the village.

Contributions for ST Works: $180 (sliding scale $130-$180)
Hinário: $100 for visitors to CHLQ
A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration to reserve your place in each Self-Transformation Work you register. Registration for the works fills quickly and with a waiting list, your deposit confirms your registration and reserves your place. You will receive a confirmation email once you have filled out the Registration Form and made your Deposit.

| | Mexico Retreats 2020 March 5-8th & March 12-15th
Jane and Jonathan are in Mexico for two retreats the weekend of March 5-8 and 12-15. They will be gone either the week before or after for rest and relaxation.

| | The CHLQ Board has appointed Bruce Ames as a new board member, as per our bylaws. He, along with the current board members will be up for community review and re-election at the next community meeting on January 19th, at which time members who meet the requirements are also welcome to run for election to the Board. The requirements to be eligible for the Board are to be a Fardado/a & full tithing Member, current with tithing for the previous 6 months. |
