Hello, our dear Brothers and Sisters at CHLQ.
One of our church members, Jaime, has proposed a "team-building retreat" to help the members of our church to come together, resolve conflicts, and create more harmony.
It would require a weekend including Friday night, Saturday and most of Sunday and be led by a professional facilitator Laura Prisc. The cost would be shared equally by the participants. (See the end of the attachment below). Our estimate of the total costs, including the pay, travel expenses, lodging and meals for the facilitator would be about $5000 to $6000.
We would like to find out what you think about this proposal. Are you interested in this retreat? Would you be willing to commit the time and money involved to participate in it?

During my 9 years here at CHLQ, and 7+ years before that in the Santo Daime community in North Carolina, as well as in my professional life, I see the crucial importance of having tried and true methods, policies and practices for resolving conflict as being crucial to the sustainability and longevity of the community. These community-adopted practices can also form the foundation for the deeper work of cultural change as it relates to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.
Words can not express my love for this path and this specific community. Hopefully, my consistent presence and contributions demonstrate my loyalty and dedication to this community in ways that my words may be inadequate to do so.
Laura Prisc and I met in Jonathan's Healer's Training, and as a result of a trade, where I asked her about her work, it became apparent to me that this was a Divine moment, because Laura's description of her work, and her love of Jonathan and Jane and the mission of the Essential Light Institute, seemed like the perfect pairing for Something Greater to be born in our local community.
We stand at an unprecedented precipice in our world's reality, as well as being at a moment of change and evolution here in our local community, and there is literally nothing more important to me than to have *not only* access to the healing power of the Santo Daime, itself, but also the good and positive relationships and rapport with my brothers and sisters in this community, so that we can face the world together, with a unified cohesion, rather than having distractions amongst and between us.
So it is in this spirit of harmony, love, truth and justice that I humbly present this proposal with a sincere prayer that our community can have the willingness to receive help and support in learning new ways to grow together that we might not have thought of individually, but will help the sustainability and longevity of the shining precious jewels we have been given.

CHLQ Leadership Teambuilding Retreat
Coach will design and facilitate a weekend retreat with the CHLQ Leadership Team, with the intended objective of raising self- and other awareness (EQ), improving communication, create pathways for proactive conflict resolution, and create a healthy, fully functioning team (as opposed to a group of individuals doing related work).
Activities will include:
• StrengthsFinder and Keirsey Assessments – each participant will participate in these two self- assessments to identify and articulate temperament styles, strengths, and preferred approaches for communication, collaboration, and delegation
• Connection & Integration – participants will get to know each other within and beyond work roles, building broader and deeper relationships across the entire team
• Communication – practicing clear verbal and non-verbal communication and discussing the impacts and implications of miscommunication and conflict
• Commitment to Process – participants will outline and agree to a process for communication and conflict resolution going forward
• Purposeful Play – participants will engage in purposeful play activities to strengthen bonds, highlight strengths and connections, and have some simple fun with each other
• Reflection – discussing insights, learning, and perception shifts experienced during the retreat
This Retreat assumes full participation from the team, beginning with a pre-retreat Zoom call to discuss pre- work, retreat flow, and expectations for participation.
The actual retreat will begin with a 2-hour session on Friday to walk through personal assessments; a full day workshop on Saturday; and additional learning followed by reflections and action plans, ending mid-to-late afternoon Sunday. A post-retreat Zoom will also be scheduled to check in on progress, action steps, and additional insights following the experience.
Coach will provide appropriate materials required within the session. Following this session, Coach will a summary of observations and recommendations for next steps, if appropriate. Investment: $2500 + travel expenses (lodging, car, meals, mileage, parking) Required Assessments: StrengthsFinder $60/person; Keirsey Personality (no charge).
Terms:
• Session to be scheduled on mutually convenient weekend at an appropriate in-person location. Client is responsible for meeting room arrangements, including any meals and refreshments served. Retreat location must be “neutral territory” not belonging to any participant in the process.
• Leadership & Life Potential, LLC, will invoice Client upon agreement; 50% due upon scheduling, balance due on or before the date of the engagement. Assessment costs are in addition to Coaches fee. All Fees subject to appropriate sales tax.
• Travel expenses will include 4 nights lodging, meals, airfare, rental car + gas, mileage (to and from airport), and airport parking. These costs will be invoiced separately, at cost, following conclusion of the retreat.
• This proposal valid until 12 midnight, 16 September 2024.
