Important: About the Work Thursday

Due to rising numbers of multiple infectious viruses circulating right now - including but not limited to Covid - as well as increased risks with holiday travel at this season and the prolonged exposure of a work, we need to do what we can to protect our community.

First and most importantly, please do not attend the work if you have any symptoms of an illness. Please do not attend if you know you recently have been exposed to an illness, whether Covid or not.

Thank you also to all of you who have decided not to come when you were not feeling well. It's important for us to show our appreciation to those who have missed works for the protection of others.

We all need to take extra care at this time for the wellbeing of others who may be vulnerable.

People can be asymptomatic and still spread a virus, so there's only so much we can do, but we have to do as much as we can. Thank you for your patience, kindness and care, for being the wonderful community that you are.

Also, this is not going to be a full dancing work. We are probably going to begin the work sitting, and will hold the star ceremonies and baptisms, then, towards the end, we may stand and dance for the Cruzeirinho.

Bring Your Unneeded Items Here!

Hi Folk!

Please consider what you have that you don't need anymore - instead of Goodwill, why not send your bags of old clothes where they will immediately go to those in need?

Bring your winter donations of needed items to the works during the Festival. I will bring them to a local non-profit I work with that is collecting winter donations to support people in our local community.

Especially needed are:

  • Winter clothes for people of all sizes and ages.

  • Hot drink bottles - do you have old yeti/hydroflask type bottle that will keep coffee and tea hot all night?  For many this is a prize.

  • Sleeping bags, blankets, and thermal mats.

  • Bivy sacks - but no tents please.

  • Rain gear.

  • Shoes in reasonable condition, especially winter boots and water-repellent shoes.

  • Food of any kind is appreciated, including fresh and organic food and also snacks.

Thank you everyone for your good Heart!

Blessings, Amashé
