Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Please, if you are so moved, send Light and Love to my mother, Theda Blanch Cozart. I just learned that she is on her deathbed with end-stage lung cancer. She is weak, without energy, yet no pain.

Theda is a sweet, loving person who has lived a life of relentless trauma and anxiety. Hers has not been an easy life, yet she never loses her appreciation for small beauties, or her energy to go to bat for her children. My oh-so-difficult mother now appears to me as simply a ball of love, decorated with her prickly, ornery, endearing personality.

For her I wish a peaceful, gentle transition, supported by Light, without fear. Let her anxieties lift and melt away, and let love and beauty fill her awareness. I pray she feels seen for who she is. I wish her the grace of dignity and a deep, wondrous inner calm.

May she meet the Mystery with joy. May she delight in the lifting of the veil. May the Light be ever-present for her as she navigates her new phase of existence.

She will be surrounded by her 6 children. Some of them are dangerous people. I also ask for prayers of safety for me and my sisters as we must face relatives we have avoided for years, even decades, for good reason. I pray that my siblings can get along well enough to put Mom first, so that she is surrounded by harmony in her final days and final moments.
