Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It is time to wish you all a good New Year. Here we all are in this amazing and difficult time, following together on this precious spiritual path. The uncertainty of these times continues, everything is shaking, and we are learning to firm ourselves in the light. Our church has found a way through the changing surges of the pandemic to continue to have works, allowing us the opportunity to receive the blessing and healing of the Holy Daime. 

We realize that it has been a personally and financially difficult time for many of our members. Our church is still steady financially but has had significant expenditures in the last year that caused us to dip deeply into the reserves. We are asking for a commitment from our members, both fardados and fardadas as well as steady attendees, to tithe. Tithing is a commitment to contribute monthly, regardless of the number of works attended, in order to provide a steady monthly income for our church to continue to function. This will help our church to get through this time of uncertainty and to be there for all us, and for many others who are seeking this light and have not yet found us. 

When you commit to make a monthly contribution to the church and follow through on that commitment, you are considered a member of the church and have the right to vote at church community meetings. The recommended monthly tithe is $150. For those who are unable to afford that, we hope you can tithe $100 each month, or something between $100-$150. Tithing members do not make additional contributions at each work, unless there are special type of works in which we are all asked to contribute more, such as when we have fundraisers or Brasilian visitors. We understand that there are circumstances where a person cannot pay $100 per month. If you are one of those people, and you want to make a monthly contribution and formalize your CHLQ membership, please speak to a member of the church board. We will make an arrangement. Every contribution helps and is appreciated.

The church needs steady financial support. We have real costs. CHLQ has chosen to import all of our Sacrament from Brasil. We have cultivated mutually beneficial relationships with several Santo Daime churches who make excellent Daime specifically for us. In addition to the compensation given to our Brasilian partners, there are significant costs involved in transporting our Sacrament from the Amazon to Ashland. Other expenses include rent, church supplies, a great office administrator, utilities, yurt and grounds maintenance, and so on. 

We ask you to look at what you are receiving from your participation in the Church of the Holy Light of the Queen. What are you gaining from the Holy Daime? It is the experience of many in our church, that if you express your gratitude and appreciation for what you are receiving, by personally and tangibly giving as much as you can, you receive far more in return, both spiritually and through increased financial abundance in your own life.
