Dear Loved Ones,
We are so excited to learn that Tonai has been chosen as one of 50 participants for a very special 4-day gathering and healing event, 'Being Black/Healing Black' in Montgomery, Alabama, on September 7th.
This event is led directly by Resmaa Menekem, the NYTimes bestselling author of 'My Grandmother's Hands', and by a cutting-edge Zen priest, Reverend Angel Kyodo Williams, whose book was hailed as “an act of love” by Pulitzer Prize winner Alice Walker and “a classic” by Buddhist teacher Jack Kornfield.
Participants will travel to Alabama on a pilgrimage through historic places, and then immerse in a healing journey to experience what life would be like if every aspect of their lives were not dominated by race.
Tonai will have the opportunity to be part of this first initiatory group that will serve as a model for the healing of others in the future.
This is particularly powerful for Tonai in particular as he was born in Alabama, with generations of his paternal lineage that lived, and still live, in Alabama.
Would you be willing to consider supporting our fundraising endeavor to get him there?
The tuition deadline has been extended just for Tonai. We have until August 29th to raise the full cost of $3750.
Here is the link where you can contribute.
We also welcome prayers and spreading the word, too!
Thank you so much for any positive energy you can send our way!
