Wyeast releases three "private collection" beer yeast stains each season, available only during that season. For Winter 2022, the "Frosted Lagers" releases are available January through March. Please order using our website and we will fulfill as soon as they arrive at our warehouse. You can't get it any fresher than that!

2352-PC Munich Lager II

From a famous brewery in Munich, this strain is a low diacetyl and low sulfur aroma producer. An excellent choice for malt-driven lagers.

Try it out on our NEW Skywalker Schwarzbier beer recipe kit, available in both extract and all-grain editions. Or, perhaps pair it with our Cotati Polka Festbier, available only as an all-grain recipe. Order the Munich Lager II yeast now, and make an order note that you would like the recipe kit as well. We will add the kit to the order when the yeast arrives, and swap the yeast for the usual 2006 Bavarian Lager yeast.

2035-PC American Lager

A complex and aromatic strain that can be used for a variety of lager beers. This strain is an excellent choice for Pre-Prohibition Lagers, formerly known as Classic American Pilsners.

Try it out on our Northbay Cream Ale or Haymaker Light Lager beer recipe kits, available in both extract and all-grain editions. Order the American Lager yeast now, and make an order note that you would like the recipe kit as well. We will add the kit to the order when the yeast arrives, using this yeast in place of the usual kit yeast.

2002-PC Gambrinus Style Lager

Czech-style lager strain with very mild floral aroma, nice lager character in nose. Malt dominates profile with subtle floral/fruit notes. Full, complex flavor profile with full mouthfeel. Finishes soft and smooth with nice lingering maltiness.

Wintertime is lager time! As the days and nights have gotten cold, it's time to remember that brewers can take advantage of the low temperatures to make lagers! With that in mind, today we are releasing our NEW! Skywalker Schwarzbier Black Lager beer recipe kit. It is available in extract and all-grain version.

Beer Style: This classic German Black Lager, sometimes called a "black Pils", is balanced and satisfying. It is known for low-astringency roast richness, slight sweeness and smooth drinkability.

Dominant Ingredients and Characteristics: Chocolate & Carafa malts provide black color without a harsh astringency while the cold temperature aging produces a clean, smooth mouthfeel.
