Fall 2021 Private Collection Seasonals

The Budvar style strain has a nice malty nose with subtle fruit tones and a rich malt profile on the palate. It finishes malty but dry, well balanced, and crisp. Hop character comes through in the finish.

Try it out on our Piner Road Czech Pils beer recipe kit, available in both extract and all-grain editions. Order the Budvar Yeast now, and make an order note that you would like the recipe kit as well. We will add the kit to the order when the yeast arrives, and swap the yeast for the usual 2278 Czech Pils yeast.

Formerly known as Wyeast Ale Blend 1540-PC, this is a blend of the best ale strains to provide quick starts, good flavor, and good flocculation. The profile of these strains provides a balanced finish for British and American style ales.

Try it out on our Hopland Revival Pale Ale or Hood Mountain Dark Chocolate Porter beer recipe kits, available in both extract and all-grain editions. Order the Bohemian Ale Yeast now, and make an order note that you would like the recipe kit as well. We will add the kit to the order when the yeast arrives, using this yeast in place of the usual kit yeast.

To bring in a bit of English brewing heritage, Wyeast developed the “Old Ale” blend. It includes an attenuative ale strain along with a small amount of Brettanomyces. The blend will ferment well in dark worts, producing fruity beers with nice complexity. The Brettanomyces adds a pie cherry-like flavor and sourness during prolonged aging.

Try it out on our Yorkville Highland Scotch Ale or Armstrong Woods Strong Irish Red Ale beer recipe kits, available in both extract and all-grain editions. Order the Old Ale Yeast now, and make an order note that you would like the recipe kit as well. We will add the kit to the order when the yeast arrives, using this yeast in place of the usual kit yeast.
