Fresh Hop Crop Arrivals

Sabro and Warrior

As part of our Hop Freshness Program, this email is intended to alert you when the new crop of each type of hop arrives at our warehouse. Today, we are announcing the arrival of the following 2021 hop crops!

Aromatic Characteristics

Aromas of citrus, tropical fruit, herbs and stone fruit.

About Sabro

Sabro was first contracted by Russian River Brewing company as an Ales for ALS fundraising release for homebrewers in 2015---at that time it was known only as HBC 438. The next year, Russian River brought it to market in a popular beer release Ron Mexico. As of 2018 it became available to the marketplace for all to enjoy the beautiful tropical, citrus, herbal complexity in any beer they can conceive. Sabro has proven to be a strongly expressive hop that translates its flavor incredibly well into beer. It is a good choice in single hop beers and holds its place well as the focus of any hoppy beer.

Staff Tip: Staff member Joe Hanson-Hirt loves Sabro. Below he shares his favorite recipe to make with it - a Single Hop IPA with Sabro!

Aromatic Characteristics

Aromas of citrus, pine, herbs and spices.

About Warrior

Warrior has a high bittering potential and low astringency from cohumulone content. It is known for wonderful resinous aromas of citrus, pineapple, and pine that offer new dimensions to IPA and Double IPA brewers. Warrior was developed by Yakima Chief Ranches and arose from the same program that gave us Simcoe.
