Here are some of the resources which you might want to consider:
First, you are signed up for the free email update system which we use to send out updates on pending and enacted legislation in Tennessee, case law changes, the release of attorney general opinions and other information all with a primary focus on what is happening in Tennessee.
Second, you will have access to resources on our website such as detailed
news reports on current matters such as the lawsuit that was recently filed in West Tennessee seeking a court to declare as unconstitutional the state's existing statute making public parks and greenways gun free zones. These email alerts also expose state and local officials who testify in the Legislature to oppose and infringe your rights.
Third, TFA has one of the most complete
free public archives of Tennessee Attorney General Opinions on Tennessee relevant 2nd Amendment issues. Questions answered by the state attorney general on issues such as do church security teams need to have security licenses, can you carry in a church that also operates during the week as a school, can convicted felons hunt with black powder weapons, and many more.
Fourth, TFA and its state political action committee (www.tfalac.org) publish
election year candidate surveys on state specific 2nd Amendment issues.
Fifth, TFA generates both
Podcasts and Videocasts of 2nd Amendment issues specific to Tennessee. These resources create archival histories of those legislators who support and oppose 2nd Amendment legislation ... information that is important for election cycles.
Sixth, TFALAC is sponsors a "Lobby Day" in Nashville typically in mid-March and encourages members and supporters to come spend the day in Nashville at the Legislature meeting and talking with our legislators.
Seventh, TFA has an active presence and network on
Facebook specifically dedicated to Tennessee 2nd Amendment issues.
These are all free services.
But there are more reasons to be part of the Tennessee Firearms Association:
Increasingly, it has become clear that Tennessee's legislators, the Tennessee governor and Tennessee's administrative and some law enforcement agencies, as well as federal agencies are not working to restore and protect your constitutional rights as they should. For this reason, Tennessee Firearms Association has increasingly turned to investing in court battles and in the last 4 years TFA has invested
time and resources in at least 15 state and federal lawsuits. This is an increasing battleground in the effort to protect and restore 2nd Amendment rights when government entities fail to honor the 2nd Amendment.
If you decide to support and
join, there are some other
unique benefits. For example, TFA has negotiated member only discounts of up to 15% with firearms industry resources including USLawShield, USCCA, and CCWSafe.
We encourage you to consider
joining and renewing as a Tennessee Firearms Association member not just to get discounts on such opportunities but to actively help support this grassroots effort. Some of you are already life members and have proven your support. We still want to encourage all members to step up and consider
supplemental donations.
