Laura Ingraham talks with TN Star's Michael Patrick Leahy about the refusal of Metro Government to produce the Covenant Manifesto.

On July 21, 2023, Laura Ingraham released a video interview from her show where she discusses with Michael Patrick Leahy (TN Star and one of the petitioners in the Manifesto litigation) why the Covenant Manifesto still has not been released, why Bill Lee is demanding a special session to pass gun control and the death threat that has now been directed at Mr. Leahy.

To further the attack on the rights protected by the Second Amendment, news reports are surfacing that individuals connected with the Covenant school have apparently formed at least 2 nonprofit organizations to raise funds and lobby for Red Flag laws as well as laws mandating that firearms be locked in vehicles.   However, even a quick review of the nonprofit's website shows that it seeks the most radical of gun control proposals including 1) "advocating for stricter background checks," 2) "closing loopholes in gun laws," and 3) "supporting legislation that ensures firearms are safely stored and inaccessible to unauthorized individuals."  One of the corporations was formed on June 30, 2023 and the other was formed on July 10, 2023. Both the entities have the same registered agent who is a member of the Bradley, Arant, Boult & Cummings LLP law firm.  The group has announced that it has begun "40 days of prayer. Each day, they lead a session for a small selection of lawmakers for exactly 17 minutes, from 10:10 to 10:27 – the time when lawmakers say the school shooting occurred."

Reports are already abounding about the threat to the Legislature as organized, leftist activists are planning to disrupt the special session in an apparent effort to join Bill Lee's demand for gun control:

Add to these efforts of the progressive left and out of state organizers to intimidate the Legislature the fact now that new locally based gun control groups are being formed to pressure Legislators to submit to Bill Lee's gun control agenda.

Second Amendment advocates must take seriously the threats from all these sources.  Second Amendment advocates must take seriously that some legislators, including several Republicans like Lt. Gov. Randy McNally, Rep. Jeremy Faison, Rep. Mark White, Rep. Sam Whitson, and Rep. John Gillespie, are openly supporting various gun control proposals and are being pressured to, as one House Republican leader urges, "do something" in the special session.

Your involvement is critical to help stop Bill Lee's proposed Red Flag legislation.

Please take action now and help the TFALAC (a state political action committee) raise funds for its #RedFlagDown mission to produce radio spots, social media campaigns, and other "get out the word" measures to stop Bill Lee's insistence that the state of Tennessee should be taking guns away from lawful gun owners in violation of the Constitution.
