Does Bill Lee "deserve" a second term as governor? Probably not if based on his record on 2nd Amendment promises.
Bill Lee is up for re-election in 2022 for a second term as governor. There are three others who attempted to qualify for the Republican primary. One was disqualified apparently because there were inadequate signatures on the qualifying petition. The other two may be, if not already having occurred, may be removed from the Republican primary for governor by the State Executive Committee similar to the way that it disqualified three candidates for the 5th Congressional seat this year. If that happens, Bill Lee would get a "pass" on the August 2022 primary and would be in the November elections as the sole qualifying Republican.
But before just voting party line (or perhaps deciding you can't vote for him on principle), take a look at the campaign promises Bill Lee made in 2018 as he ran initially for governor in a contested primary. Take a look and compare those campaign promises with what not only he has done as governor (or not done) on 2nd Amendment issues in the last 4 years but look also at what he has instructed or allowed his commissioners and departments (such as the Department of Safety and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations) to do to oppress and oppose 2nd Amendment rights in the last 4 years.
As detailed in this TFA's report, the marvel of the internet and conservative reporting entities like Tennessee Star, document quite few promises that candidate Bill Lee made in 2017 and 2018. Compare those promises to what he has done (or not done) as governor for the last 4 years and it is hard to draw any conclusion other than there are a lot of promises that were made that he somehow, as governor, could not lead through the Tennessee Legislature with a "super majority" of Republicans to become the policies or laws that he had indicated he would enact as governor.
