Those who are interested in liberty, in the protection of our rights, in firearms use and ownership, should know well many things. They should know why the 2nd Amendment exists and its purpose. They should know the real stories behind the King's assaults on Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. The should know well the mechanics of marksmanship with a rifle.
The events of Lexington and Concord, safe firearms handling and marksmanship are all important.
That is one of the reasons that the Tennessee Firearms Association confidently recommends that you participate in a Project Appleseed marksmanship event!
On May 18 & 19, 2019, TFA will have a private Project Appleseed event at Long Meadow Farm in Greenbrier, Tennessee (a few minutes north of Nashville) for TFA members, TFA supporters and those who attend TFA chapter meetings and other events.
Project Appleseed is a rifle marksmanship and American history event. To sign up follow this exclusive link (this event is not visible on the Project Appleseed website schedule).
Shooters need have no prior experience with firearms, but even very experienced shooters find these events challenging. The age range is 8 years old and up, but make no mistake, this is not a “children’s event.”
A person who shoots a score of 210 or better out of a possible 250 on the “Appleseed Qualification Test” (formerly the “Army Qualification Target”) has the skills to hit a 20” target with a rack-grade rifle and store-bought ammo at 500 yards (the “rifleman’s quarter mile”). The average percentage of shooters who accomplish that feat at their first Appleseed event is 10%. Those folks earn their Rifleman badge. Can you do it?
Come out and join your fellow TFA members and learn about where our Liberties come from. You might even improve your shooting skills.
Admission is $60.00 for adults and $20.00 for children, law enforcement officers, active military, elected officials and reenactors who attend the entire event in costume.
Range fees are $15.00 per day payable to Long Meadow Farm.
“Project Appleseed” is a shooting event by the Revolutionary War Veterans Association, Inc. The RWVA is a non-profit organization. Current politics are not discussed during our events and our emphasis is on safety (so it is an ideal place to bring friends and family members reticent about firearms). Attendance at a regular or introductory event like this one is required to participate in Project Appleseed “Known Distance” and “Unknown Distance” events. More information, including how to prepare for events, is available on the website (appleseedinfo.org).
You may contact TFA member and Project Appleseed event organizer, Greg Seneff, if you have any questions regarding attendance or the event:

About three years ago, my wife, my son, my daughter-in-law and I all attended a similar Project Appleseed event. Even though I have been shooting almost everything you can identify for a large portion of my life, I can saw without reservation that the course was one of the better training and educational courses I have taken and it is one I will take again when I have the time. But what was amazing was that my wife, who is not a regular shooter, participated and enjoyed it as well. It was a great experience and one that I strongly recommend you take advantage of particularly when it is going to be held at a private range like this one will be.
There are a limited number of spots available and they are first come, first served. Please don't delay and miss this chance.
