The eve before Thanksgiving and I want to share today's 
marketing tip. 


If you're on Facebook, you're probably getting friend requests 

all the time. As a network marketer, you know how important 

it is to extend your network. 


You do this by looking for people who resonate with you in 

some way then sending a friend request. 


Most times, the friend request is accepted and this is the 

point where many network marketers go astray.


They haven't figured out yet that sending a request comes 

with certain "expectations". 


Just like any other new friendship, you have to get to know 

the person. That happens gradually whether on social media 

or in person. 


So what do many network marketers do that they shouldn't do?

THERESA'S MARKETING TIP:  Send a Friend Request For The 
Right Reason. 

Network marketing is about building relationships. When you send 
someone a friend request, what are you really thinking? 

Are you thinking about getting to know the person, learning about
them just as you would with someone you just met in person? 

When you meet someone at a bank or in line at the grocery store 
or even at a party, what do you talk about? Family? occupation?
likes and interests? Sports or polit
ics? 

Those are the kinds of topics one would expect a conversation to 
be about when you're making a new friend. Social media is not at 
all different. The only thing that is different is that you're not talking 
face to face but the conversation should be the same. 

Too many network marketers are sending friend requests and are 
either subsequently ignoring the person THEY reached out to, 
or think because a request was sent means a green light to pitch 
their business. 

Think seriously about what you are trying to achieve. Pitching 
someone you've just met is a no-no, digging in to their business
to find fault and offer yours is another no-no. 

Stop doing this. 

People get turned off by it and you will lose someone who might 
have turned into a customer or partner.

If you want to be a top-earner, pay attention to what you see and 
listen to what you hear….build relationships. It’s the only way!
