Dear Friend,
Are you following your dream? Each day I am reminded that I must continue in the direction where God leads me because, I'm following my dream. I must admit, it's not always pleasant or easy. Following your dream can be a challenge, for me it takes prayer, exercise, reading, studying, writing, and work. Occasionally, I take a short diversion like going to Cold Stone for ice cream (which I shouldn't do!) or taking the time to actually watch a movie through to the end (that doesn't happen often). Recently, I took a day off and just chilled out at the pool. Taking the time to get away from everything reminded me of how important it is to get away, relax and take some me time. While I always remind my coaching clients of this, I had failed to do it myself :-(
Even Jesus took time to get away by himself! Taking that one day to sit outside at the pool helped me to gain insight into some challenges that I had been facing and a strategy to do what I needed to do. I was also able to catch up on my reading and finally to get into the pool.
So what about you? What do you need to do differently? If you're following your dream it's easy to get caught up in the details, things that require your attention, people who require your attention. It's important to have a time just for you.
Here are three of my personal takeaways from my day of freedom at the pool:
1) Take as many of these days as possible this summer! 2) Always take a notebook because God will speak! 3) Lose ten (20) pounds! :-)
