Hi Friend,
The world is in a strange place. As I write this, the chance of a potential war is looming. Geopolitics is a subject that most Americans don't pay attention to. Unfortunately, we usually don't pay attention until things impact us personally. I fully understand. I had to be shaken awake to include politics as part of my already busy life.
We have been blessed in the past to have politicians who handled everything and all we needed to do was vote for our favorite candidates. We didn't always realize that politics can be confusing and complicated, add to that American politics is designed very differently from other countries and requires the populace to be educated and fully involved in the process. It requires not only that we know politics but also the policies needed to maintain and secure our society. Complacency means that If it didn't impact our individual lives, we didn't pay attention. Consequently, we look around and see a very different-looking country from the one we grew up in. Right now, there are numerous problems; energy, the currency, and possibly a war with Russia. These problems are all related to policy.
I believe that the parable of the wheat and tares describe our current times:
Matthew 13:24-30 New King James Version The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ” |
