Hello Friend, Entrepreneur Bits: Creating a Plan for your Business
The New Year is around the corner and afterwards the euphoria and excitement would be over, and it would be time to face life. If you are like most people, I guess you will make a New Year’s resolution. How is your resolution going? Are you still staying strong or have you fallen back to old ways? If you are still going strong, good for you. If you have fallen off, you can always dust yourself up and try again.
Personally, I prefer setting goals. Goals are not as rigid as resolutions. With resolutions, once you fall off, it’s done, but with goals you can always pick yourself up and get back up again. Goals work best when there is a timeline attached to them, unlike resolutions.
To create a goal for the New Year so you can make it your best year yet, you need to be aware of your desires for your business. You must put the interest of the business at the forefront of every decision you make. Next, gather ideas, you can use answers from the Reflection exercise, and even borrow ideas from your previous goals.
Goals are better is they are written down and placed where you or key people can refer to on an as-needed basis. Goals should be written in statement form. For example, one of your goals could be:
“In 2019, we would explore better relationships with our vendors, so we can negotiate deeper discounts.”
If you haven’t created you goal for 2019, it is not too late, and if you would like to share your goals, feel free to share them.
