How are you? I hope you are staying safe. A lot has happened in 2020. When we said Happy New Year a few months back, we hoped that this year would be a year of better things. After all, it was the beginning of a new decade. But what do we see? COVID-19 ravaging, businesses closing temporarily, staying home, no work, no income. This is far from the growth, new opportunities, new ideas, fulfilled dreams, and more wealth. One thing we must remember is that in life there would always be setbacks both big and small, and all you need to do is to keep yourself alive by staying safe and not giving up hope as this would pass, we would get through this.
When you go back to work shortly, what do you expect? Do you think that customers would come running in? Don’t count on that happening because a lot has changed, people are worried and afraid, money is tight, and there is so much uncertainty. As per our human nature, when there is uncertainty, people do nothing. Does that mean that you fold your hands, hoping and waiting for customers? No as a business owner, you owe a duty to your self to do what you can to make your business grow, and the best way to do that is by engaging with your customers. Here are some ways to do that,
Reach out to your Customers. Reach out to your existing customers, those that already buy from you. Call them up or send a text. Ask them how they are doing and remind them that you are still working and that you would always ensure they are safe.
Look for New customers. For your business to grow, you need more customers. Introduce people to your business, talk to more people. Go online, social media is a great place to meet people who can become your customers.
Finally, Go Online. Did you notice that the first 2 ideas required the use of technology and the internet? If there is anything we have learnt in this lockdown, it is that the internet is necessary. While others closed shop or couldn’t go out, the internet is still working, in fact working more than ever before.
