It's amazing what you can accomplish simply by beating the man in the mirror...
Or more specifically, the little voice in your head that doubts your ability to do anything. And tells you as much quite often: - You can't do that...
- You won't make it...
- That's not for you...
- It's too late...
- It's too soon...
- It's too risky...
- You're not smart enough...
- You're the wrong race...
- You're the wrong gender...
- You're from the wrong side of the town...
- You don't have the right personality...
- That's too much work...
- That takes too long...
You get the point.
That little voice in your head is the product of lots of voices that have, over time, coalesced into a single, squeaky, annoying naysayer.
Like many of you, I heard quite a few of these good natured warnings along the way from folks who were "just trying to look out for me." So much so, that I too have a Negative Ned in my head.
Good thing I didn't listen and, in fact, have pretty much replaced old Ned's voice with my own somewhat arrogant tones.
It's served me well.
