The Sure Fit Designs Designing Stylus: Your Playful, Powerful Pants-Making Partner
At a glance, the stylus looks like a beautifully shaped tool with smooth curves, but once you start playing with it, you realize just how versatile it truly is. Frontward, backwards, upside down-it doesn't matter! There's a use for every edge and corner. Whether you're drawing the inseam curve, shaping the hip line, or adjusting the waistline, the stylus adapts right along with your creativity.
And this is where I want to encourage you to explore and play. I've noticed that many of you instinctively choose to use the top section of the stylus labeled 'Hip Curve" when drafting your pants, using that prominent curve as your go-to shape-and sometimes that can lead to a bubble or extra fullness in the hip area of your test garment.
Instead of defaulting to just one part of the ruler, try experimenting with the full length of the stylus when connecting your hip curve dots. Slide it around, flip it, and find the line that flows most naturally with your body shape. The stylus is designed to give you options-so take advantage of that flexibility and let with work with you. You might be surprised how much of a difference a little exploration can make!
