Subject: Farewell to Summer Reading

We'll see you next year!

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
—A.A. Milne (Winnie-the-Pooh)

We put in a lot of hard work, had a lot of fun, and read a TON of books in this year's Adult Summer Reading program. We hope you enjoyed it! And remember, your library is here for you all year long :)

This will be the last summer reading newsletter for a while, but we'll email you at the start of next year's program. That's about nine months away, if you're keeping track. Next year's theme will be "Imagine Your Story," combining fairy tales, mythology, and fantasy.

For now, please consider taking this short survey to let us know what you liked, what you disliked, and suggestions for next year!
Just the facts, please!

We actually ran out of blue raffle tickets by the end of the program, and had to use a blue marker to create more... because you all read SO MANY books! Amazing!

We had 198 adult summer readers this year, twenty-two more than last year. The grand total was 3073 tickets, including 1760 blue tickets (for books read) and 1313 white tickets (for challenges completed). That also includes 70 blank tickets—yikes! But don't worry; none of the blank tickets were drawn as winners.

One last challenge

The raffles are finished, but we do have one more challenge for you. September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and we'd love to have your help. You, our summer reading participants, are some of the library's most active and involved patrons—and you're our best advocates, too.

So your last challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to encourage a friend or family member (or perfect stranger!) to get a library card.

You can also help spread the word about the library's Read Local. Shop Local. program. During the month of September, Berlin-Peck patrons can show their library card to save money at local businesses.

Complete this challenge and receive our deepest gratitude :)

We'll continue to post your book reviews and recommendations on Facebook—but since the reviews were so popular at yesterday's party, here's the master list! Click on any title to see if it's available.
