Friend, get
the most out of your summer!
Can you
believe summer is here? There is so much
to love about summer.
Where I live, it is still cool in the mornings and evenings. I have fond memories of my mom opening the doors in the morning to let the cool summer morning air blow through
the house. Then she would go out and say good morning to her flowers. I love the
long days of summer, BBQ’s, hikes, family time, so many great things.
Summer can
also be a bit hectic. It comes with its own set of challenges. Schedules can get
upended with kids out of school, summer church, academic, band, and sports camps, swim team, family vacations, reunions, not to mention added yard work.
How can you be
more intentional and get the most from your summer?
1- Contemplate specific goals you want
to accomplish this summer? Perhaps you want to strengthen a particular relationship, create
positive memories with friends or family, complete some home or work projects, or
improve your health.
2- Pull out your Success Choice Planner
and turn to a “Notes/Creativity” page and brainstorm what you want and need to
get done this summer. List the projects, camps, vacations, and deadlines.
3- Don’t overwhelm yourself with too
many projects or activities. Circle the
most important ones, the ones that take you closer to your Area of Balance Ideals.
5- Schedule in important to-do's: work project deadlines, dates to
register for camps, book flights and other travel arragnements, etc.
6- Decide on a home, yard, or other
project, and block off time to work on it.
7- Use your schedule template at the
front of your planner to create a schedule template for your family. Here’s an example:
