Happy Father's Day!
I wanted to take a minute and honor fathers this Father's Day.
Fathers are a powerful influence. I was fortunate to have a dad who was a great example to me. He passed away 4 years ago, but his words of wisdom often come to mind, like:
"You can either pay interest or earn interest. Always be someone who earns interest;"
"If you try to do whats right, everything will work out in the end;"
"There's no sense worrying about something you can't control, it just creates unnecessary suffering."
We live in the Mountain Time Zone, and on New Year's Eve at 10:00 pm my dad would announce, "well, it's the new year in New York, I'm going to bed. You know, you should always get up and go to bed in the same day."
I am fortunate to be married to a man who is a wonderful father and a positive example for me. He is quick to drop whatever he is working on to help a child in need. One of his most common phrases is, "how can I help."
Hopefully you can spend time with, or at least connect with in some way, a father in your life, or father figure that made a positive difference for you.
