StrongFirst Snatch Test Endurance
No Pain, Less Strain, More Gain—What the…? by Denzel Allen
Most endurance training plans are predicated on sheer volume. For triathletes, runners, and cyclists, that can mean triple-digit mileage every week. In other sports and activities, it involves more sets, repetitions, and tonnage, possibly across multiple sessions per day. The trouble is that such high volume often leads to injury and in the long run (pun intended), perhaps even career-ending burnout. Perhaps there’s a better way. READ

TRAINING ENDURANCE
Strength may be the master quality—but it isn't the only quality. For professional athletes, military operators, weekend warriors, and the many shades in between, improving capacity for sustained high-performance is also imperative.

"What does not kill me, makes me stronger" is the traditional approach of stimulating adaptation. This pushing to the limit is the consensus in endurance training, as is training to failure in bodybuilding and recreational fitness. The alternative approach is diametrically opposed to the first. It is to train to "avoid (or at least delay) the unfavourable internal conditions...that lead to failure" or reduced performance. This is the anti-glycolitic way...and the path that we take.

The Q&D protocol—StrongFirst Experimental Plan 033D—is just the tip of the anti-glycolitic training iceberg—and only one of eighteen state of the art training templates taught at Strong Endurance. And because the best coaches need to understand enough of what goes on under the hood of effective programming to be dangerous—at least to the competition—Strong Endurance arms you with ample cutting edge, trench proven insights so you will be confident in stepping off the too-well-travelled path.
