Ladies and Gentlemen,
“Keeping
the Blade Sharp” is something we embrace as Students of Strength. Achieving your
certification(s) took hard work to prepare for and to meet StrongFirst’s
industry leading instructor standards. Recertification allows us to be students
once again and continue to be sharpened as “iron sharpens iron.” (Proverbs
27:17)
Recertification
means you continue to have these benefits:
You can
recertify in several ways:
- Attend your next StrongFirst Certification
- Attend a Special Event and apply
for onsite recertification
- Apply to assist at a StrongFirst
Certification (details
on the Certified Instructors Only page)

| | 1. Attend
your next StrongFirst Certification
Progressing
within the School of Strength not only adds to your knowledge and skill, it is
an excellent way to enhance your marketability as a strength professional. The
branches of the School of Strength are connected by our principles and allow
you to expand your ability to pursue, promote, and practice strength in
barbell, kettlebell and bodyweight training.
At any
new certification, you can register to recertify any currently held
certifications through our Unified Recertification at no additional cost. This is
also available for all current instructors registering to attend a
certification as a student.
This is
also the path towards achieving our highest instructor designation: the StrongFirst
Certified Elite Instructor. Once you have achieved all four StrongFirst
certifications, you will have earned the StrongFirst Elite title and the
three-year certification time frame it provides (in addition to all the other
benefits of certification).
To
Achieve the Elite Rank:
StrongFirst
Elite is achieved upon successful completion of your final certification where you recertify all currently
held certifications by using the Unified Recertification.
For
example:
If you
hold the SFG I, SFB, and SFL, you will recertify according to the SFG I + SFB +
SFL requirements (see chart)
and upon successfully achieving the SFG II certification, you will now hold the
StrongFirst Elite designation.
To Maintain the Elite Rank:
You must
select the Elite Unified Recertification option.
Be ready to retest all Elite certification requirements (see chart). Passing all modalities will provide a 3-year
expiration date for all four certifications.

| | 2. Attend
a Special Event
At select Special Events, you have the opportunity to
register for a limited number of spots to recertify any currently held
certifications through our Unified Recertification (this is included in the
registration price for the Special Event for current instructors). Note: this option is based
on facility and equipment availability and may not be an option. Please check the registration page of the special event
for details. |
| | 3. Apply
to Assist StrongFirst
Certified Instructors may apply to assist at a StrongFirst Certification in
which they are currently certified through StrongFirst. (i.e. You may not
assist at an SFG Level II if you do not currently hold that certification and
so on.) Being an Assistant is an excellent way to deepen your skills as an
instructor and share your passion with those hoping to become certified or
continue their certification with StrongFirst. If you apply
and are invited to attend a StrongFirst Certification as an assistant, you will
pay no tuition. (You will be responsible for all of your expenses, however.) You
may submit an assistant application on the Certified Instructors Only page. Please note: Opportunities
to assist are based on the number of students on a certification by
certification basis. Therefore, there is no guarantee that an opportunity to
assist at a particular event will be available. Be prepared to select another
recertification option. For more
information, please contact the Event Coordinator from the registration page of
the particular event at which you would like to assist. |
| | 4. Online
Recertification Rather
than appearing in person to test out your technique and update your
instruction skills,
you will submit them via video on our new Online
Recertification Platform. Once you submit your online recertification, one of our Master StrongFirst
Certified Instructors will evaluate your skills. You may select your
preferred Master Instructor within the form (or, if
left blank, one will be assigned to you). Cost—$349 To qualify for this option, you must submit your Online Recertification registration prior to your current
expiration date. Upon a successful pass, your Instructor credentials will
renew for another two years after the testing completion date or three
years with a StrongFirst Elite recertifcation. This
option is available for two consecutive recertifications and then you must
choose one of the other options before becoming eligible once again to recertify
via the online platform. A new
manual is not included with the online recertification.You may
purchase a new manual for each certification renewed for $100 per manual via
PayPal to cover the cost of printing and shipping. StrongFirst’s PayPal account
is customerservice@strongfirst.com. Please include “Certification
Manual—Your Name—and current mailing address" in the memo field.
Once you have successfully completed your recertification and we have received
your payment, your manual will be sent to you.

take note: 1) Beginning in 2020, the Unified
Recertification will provide all the various recertification combinations
necessary and the One-day SFG Recertification will no longer be available. 2) The Online Recertification price will
increase to $349 from $299 effective immediately. These
are exciting opportunities to progress within the StrongFirst School of
Strength and continue our mission to pursue, promote, and practice strength
because we believe strength has a greater purpose. Please
