On to the call summary
1)
Certified Instructor verbiage
We are all StrongFirst Certified Instructors. The
addition of "Certified" will be attached to Instructor now to
distinguish that all instructors are certified by StrongFirst.
The key here is making sure we include the words StrongFirst Certified. From this point on, our titles will be adjusted accordingly—Master StrongFirst Certified Instructor, Senior StrongFirst Certified Instructor, and StrongFirst Certified Team Leader. We will no longer use terms like StrongFirst Master Instructor, etc. Please write
and refer to yourself as the title stated above.
2) StrongFirst Elite and NCCA accredited certification All
StrongFirst Leadership must complete their StrongFirst Elite status
(attending, testing, and completing the SFL and/or SFB) this year and provide a certificate. Proof of certification from an NCCA accredited
certificationmust be provided. A Dropbox File Request email will be sent out for you to upload your StrongFirst and NCCA certificate proof.
- Dec. 31, 2019 is the deadline and we will remove individuals from Leadership after that date until the requirements are met. Please
email me with any questions or concerns and/or we can schedule a call
to discuss completing these requirements for StrongFirst Leadership.
3) Communications update You
should have all received a communications update from Amanda if you are
a Licensee. The important information for Leadership is: - Please
refer to the Communications Directory and use approved communication
channels—official StrongFirst email for business and Calendly for
scheduling GoToMeeting calls.
- Update your emails to reflect that any question related to HQ Invoicing will now go to invoicing@strongfirst.com and any question related to the Accredited Gym program will go to me at brett.jones@strongfirst.com.
4) Internal vs. External communication For
consistency, we need to be clear on how we are referring to those
StrongFirst individuals running an event (course, certification, special event).
Instead of referring to a Licensee of an event we will be using the
Event Coordinator title to describe the Licensee. So if you
receive a question about an upcoming event please
refer to the Event Coordinator for that event in any communication.
5) Certified Instructors Only Page - To
access it make sure you are logged into your forum account (and that the email
address used is the same one used in the SF database/profile page—only one email
please).
- Then go to your Profile Page from the "Find an Instructor" search feature, scroll down to the "edit your profile" orange button, click open to enter/update bio fields and add a photo.
- ALL LEADERSHIP must have a profile page with bio and photo. Amanda receives a lot of inquiries and points these people to our Leadership.
- Send troubleshooting/issues to admin@ email.
This page is also where you can access the SOP, Branding Guide, order Instructor Shirts,
and Apply to Assist at events. We will also be adding more certified instructor
only content in the near future.
6) Social Media We
get a lot of questions regarding social media and why StrongFirst may
not share certain posts. From a broad perspective we (the StrongFirst
community) are not here to police the internet but we do monitor and
stay aware of what is being posted.
To the question of why posts may not get shared there are some key considerations:
A) Not tagging StrongFirst main social media page(s) in your post. Make sure you are tagging SF (#StrongFirst). If you don’t tag, you don’t show up in the profile’s
feed so we won’t find your content unless we search each of your
accounts individually. Not going to happen.
B) Unsuitable clothing. Shirtless, short shorts, “political or religious” logos on shirts/walls, etc... can be an issue. Dress like you were teaching at an event.
C) Not a "value added" post. Make sure the post provides a tip or benefit to the person seeing it.
D) A Carousel posting. More than one pic or video in the same post can make it unsharable.
E)
Your account is a mix of business and personal. We will visit your page
before sharing and if there are posts that violate our Code and
expectations we will not send people to your page. Or if your page has a large proportion of personal images (hobbies,
pets, food, etc.), we would reconsider reposting unless the tip is
phenomenal.
F) We are looking for 1-2 posts per week to share not dozens so it will be a selective process.
G) Can be a success story or a technique tip. Be sure to add a good comment to explain context if you are
showcasing something that wouldn’t meet our standards. We want to
discourage all couch-coaching trolls from commenting.
H) Not too busy. Consider the aesthetic of the visual
and how it could fit on our page. A simple visual well presented may
have less information but be better received.
I) Composition and color. Ideally you’d have
enough blank space above or below the subject for us to add the #repost
tag without cutting out your content. Color—you don’t have to do them
in B&W…we’ll filter it before posting.
Having
StrongFirst share or repost your social media is a big benefit to you
since it will increase the traffic to your page. We are therefore
careful and selective on when we do that so it is to the benefit of all
involved.
