Subject: Simple & Sinister in the real world

An old marketing acronym is WIIFM—What’s in it for me?

This question gets asked differently when a student chooses a program. They might ask about what results they will get from the program. What will it do for X (“X” could be BJJ, running, etc.)? What are the results or benefits of following a program like Kettlebell Simple & Sinister? WIIFM?

One of our forum members, Guy, gave his real-world story on the forum of how Simple and Sinister benefited him and his family during a move this past April:

And so, I sit here on a Sunday evening after helping move my eldest daughter from one part of London to another (a much nicer part). A removal firm was of no use—it had to be her dad—one of life’s privileges. Of course, as these things go, the lift (elevator for my transatlantic friends) was out of order, and her new apartment (a 19th-century apartment) had no lift. Also, if you have daughters, you know that they have a large amount of clothes, belongings, and so on.

Anyway, it was a good six hours of moving. I am 60 next month (just to put my next paragraph into context), yet I was never truly out of breath or troubled.

Quite simply, I put this down to Kettlebell swings three times a week: 32kg x 10 reps x 10 sets with two sets of Goblet squats thrown in. Also, two days a week, I do 8 x 60 m hill runs (I would say sprints, but….).

Nothing too complicated. And there you are.

Have a good week, everyone.

As StrongFirst Certified SFG Level I Instructor Adam Pierre puts it: “Fitness should serve your life.”

Or is your life serving your fitness? A question to ponder, perhaps.

Guy’s fitness is serving his life.
