Subject: Coach extraordinaire sums up 50 years of training wisdom

Rif knows about strength. He has done it all as an athlete and a coach: a national caliber gymnastics competitor, California bench press record holder, Head Coach Team USA Women's Powerlifting… In his sixties he is pressing a 225-pound barbell overhead and keeps on going.

Today, Mark Reifkind, StrongFirst Certified Master Instructor sums up what he has learned in 50 years:
1) You stand on the shoulders of giants.

2) N = 1. What works for you? Solve your own training problems.

3) Consistency trumps intensity and intensity is born from consistency.

4) Control the breath, control the body.

5) Feed-forward tension is the master key to strength.

Each one of these bullets could be unpacked into a long book; let us hope Rif will do just that.

Today Rif is joining the ranks of our Emeriti. Thank you for two decades of passion and knowledge that you brought to our school of strength!
