Subject: A+A for combat fitness

Do you need a blend of strength and endurance?

Are you a Marine getting ready for your Combat Fitness Test? An athlete training for a grueling event? A homeowner facing a long winter of snow shoveling?

Strong Endurance™ is here to help.

Here is how to apply a classic Soviet anti-glycolytic training template to the US Marine Corps “Maneuver under Fire” event.
Happy upcoming birthday, Marines!
The test is a timed 300-yard shuttle run filled with a variety of tasks like sprinting, crawling, etc.

Pick one event, e.g., the fireman’s carry, and do it on the clock with a very specific work and rest ratio: 10sec to 50sec.

The rest must be active: walk around, shake the muscular tension out with “fast and loose” drills.

Keep going until you cannot pass the talk test before the next set, or your performance starts deteriorating.

Actively rest for 2min, then do the same with another event, e.g., buddy drags.

Do this for up to an hour, squeezing in as many events as the time allows.

Train every one of the CFT events except the grenade throw like this once or twice a week.

Every other week run through an entire Maneuver under Fire test with a moderate effort. Report your results on our forum.
