Hi Teachosauri,
How are you doing? Every month I like to give you a little update. :)
This January, I've made the following improvements to the Hub and the resources:
I've streamlined the story, We're Searching for a Dinosaur to make it even more engaging and easier to implement. Start with fun actions (no instruments needed!) and then introduce a pizzicato two-string ostinato pattern. Download the video using the button or right click to save. Here are much slower versions of Old king Cole. These open string and simple fingered playalongs are easy to download as a ZIP by clicking the pink button. :) You'll now find a handy 'Got Questions?' chat button on the left side of the Stringosaurus Hub. Here you can also direct message me and we can chat and you can ask me teaching or tech questions or try to locate a resource. I LOVE hearing from you. Feel free to email me—just like the wonderful Jane did! We worked on a pizzicato rubric for a whole class of year twos with a focus on ensemble success. We also discussed some guidelines for violin usage in the classroom. If you would like to know more, just ask. Yayy Exciting news! There's now a hilarious new track by Justino Perez to accompany our left-hand setup picture book, the Doo-Bree-What-Sit-Ease. The track is the thumb's special dance!! Try experimenting with gentle tapping, sliding the hand and thumb, and bouncing the left-hand fingers on the string along with this short track. I’d LOVE to hear about your creative experiments—what works best for your students? Eventually, I’d love to film students’ hands (like in the book) and create a full Doo Dance routine... yes, I know, I'm a little crazy! Ha ha!
So keep in touch and best wishes with all your endeavours.
Love Laura xxx

New Database of Early Childhood Stringosaurus Teachers
I’m often approached by prospective parents or carers who are looking for teachers with specific early childhood string teaching skills, especially those using Stringosaurus materials.
I’m creating a database for you to connect with these families.
If you’d like your profile included so that parents can reach out to you, just fill out this form.
