Hello friends,
Did you know, about 4 years ago, I started to run? I needed a way to clear my head from my hectic life. I buddied up with my friend Esther and we ran regularly together. She used to laugh at me, because I insisted on stretching after every single run. (I can be a bit pendantic!) But there was one point where I was still running and she had run into problems, (excuse the bad pun). The physio gave her stretches to strengthen and that was the moment when she wished she had stretched in retrospect ;) I'm so proud of her, she has now started to run again and is so much stronger.
Fueled by my passion for warming up, I now incorporate warm-ups into the start of every violin lesson, to ensure children know how to take good care of their bodies and create an awareness they will need to see them through the long yet rewarding process of learning their instrument.
I have popped all these warm-ups in one easy place... In the section, Mind and Body Warm-ups in the Stringosaurus Resources Hub. I happen to be sooooo excited, I have just launched the most amazing warm-up yet into the hub!
We’re Searching for a Dinosaur is a hit with my students and I have had some gorgeous feedback from my resource hub members.
Every month I launch a new resource into the hub. This was the resource which stretched me to my limits with regards to the production.
This is a whole body warm up for string players and it provides the opportunity for discussion surrounding how sound is made on our instruments. Children discover that they create their instrument’s voices! Such a cool discovery to have at a young age.
As promised, just because you are amazing people and I appreciate you, I am gifting you the PDF book, audio and teachers' notes of We're Searching for a Dinosaur!
Use this with your students and check out the video clip to get a feel for the rhythm and the pace. If you love the video clip and the PDF story and you would like more similar resources, just hit reply. :)
I would LOVE for you to share this email with your colleagues. I encourage everyone to sign up to my email list so you can have my very best resources.
You are all amazing and I'm so grateful to have your support. Please let me know whether this is useful??
Stay safe wherever you are and sending love and gratitude to you all,
Laura :)
